Here are just a few testimonials from our clients:
I recently contracted Silcox Mechanical Solutions to perform site services at a job site in Australia for one of my global customers (pump OEM).
Rick went to the job site and began troubleshooting the pump issues at the site that the end user deemed a warranty issue. After an intensive investigation, it was found that the issues were caused by the installing contractor’s poor long term storage procedures that caused damage to the pump bearings from water intrusion into the bearing housings. This caused premature bearing failures. The bearing issues were considered non-warranty and the installing contractor was billed for the repair.
I contracted Rick’s company because of the integrity, professional and experience that he exhibited when he worked for me during my tenure at Peerless Pump Company. That decision weighed in with great success, as my customer and I were very happy with the end result. I will definitely keep him in mind for future business and would highly recommend Silcox Mechanical Solutions to anyone looking for a company that will deliver on their commitment.
Ron BrowningIn my former position as District Sales Manager with Peerless Pump Company, I had the pleasure of working with Rick Silcox on several projects where the customer was experiencing premature pump system failures.
One project in particular, was a large water supply pumping station providing water to a large city in the Northeast. The installation consisted of three 1,000 HP vertical turbine pumps. Within this configuration, two of the pumps had experienced failures within the first three months of operation. In the initial trouble shooting of the two failed pumps, the cause of the failures was not readily apparent.
While additional analysis was conducted by Sales and Engineering to attempt to determine the root cause, Rick took it upon himself to have a metallurgical analysis performed on some of the failed components. Rick chose to have this done as a means to either eliminate the components or to possibly zero in on their definitive contribution to the failures. The results were compelling as it was determined that the failed parts had been manufactured from defective materials.
Thomas H. MillerRick’s combination of electrical and mechanical knowledge gives him a real advantage when troubleshooting UL/FM fire pump systems.
We recently had an international project with controller issues, where the installing contractor had issued a huge back charge on the project. Rick was able to go in and evaluate not only the controller and identify various installation issues, but also trained the personnel on correct maintenance procedures.
With his system knowledge and collaborative efforts, Rick negotiated the back charges to a fraction of the original amount.
We expressed our gratitude and his response was, “don’t worry about it, I got it covered”. That response and attitude pretty much sums up my experiences with Rick Silcox.
Dave BrushI have known Rick Silcox for over 15 years now. You can send him anywhere and he will fix anything. Rick has a proven competency in the Clarke Diesel Fire Pump Drivers. He knows our products well and I have the utmost confidence in his ability to collaborate on projects with all party’s involved to everyone’s satisfaction and with clear resolve.
It is extremely difficult to find someone today with as much hands on experience in pump installations and troubleshooting; in addition to, having the experience of working in some of the remote places on earth. If you have a pump job that you need installed correctly, started up, or needs troubleshooting, Rick is your man!
Justin F. StrousseI have known and worked with Rick Silcox for 20 years when I was Director of international Sales at Peerless Pump Company. Rick traveled to many foreign job sites in the Middle East, Far East and Latin America to supervise installation and start up service for our vertical turbine and fire pump packages.
Rick worked very well on his own in many difficult situations and always insured that our pump units were working properly and the customer was satisfied before leaving the job site. Rick’s abilities to work with our largest vertical turbines for municipal applications as well as fire pump packages for off shore platforms made him uniquely qualified for any assignment.
In cases where technical problems came up at job sites, Rick did not hesitate to ask for engineering assistance and counsel when required.
I can recommend Rick Silcox as a fully qualified and conscientious technical service engineer for the installation, commissioning and service of centrifugal, turbine and fire pumps without reservation.
